A center hung scoreboard/video display would interfere with our ability to host concerts and other events, what can we do?
First Team can custom design a scoreboard /video board that can be lowered assembled /disassembled in a timely manner for storage elsewhere in your arena during the time your entertainment event is scheduled.
What is Multi-Venue?
Multi-Venue refers to a video board that can be removed from a scoreboard and then relocated to support other sports or used in mutable locations within the arena. We can even locate it in a high traffic area where it can be used as an outdoor billboard for your sponsors or University announcements.
How can you use the same LED video boards for indoor arena sports where the spectators are up close and then use them for outdoor venues where they are far away?
Like HD televisions the quality and Resolution (pixel density) of LED technology has increased while the costs per LED panel has come down dramatically over the past several years. Today it is cost effective to use an IP 65 rated (indoor / outdoor) 10 mm LED panel for both indoor sports or venues (up close viewing) and then reconfigured to be used for football, baseball or other (faraway viewing) outdoor sports or venues.
Raising and lowering the video boards and then removing them from the basketball scoreboard for use elsewhere sounds expensive. How much more does it cost?
Depending on the project, it could increase your total cost by 20%. If the video boards are not removed from the arena but stored or used in the other areas of the arena, the increase in cost would be closer to 10%.
However, instead of hanging seven months of the year doing nothing, the video boards could be supporting other sports that don’t generate the revenue to have their own. It also increases your ability to sell sponsors. You can now give them three times the commercial exposure by offering advertising during the year in other sports and venues.
Can an LED display be High Definition?
The simple answer is no. There is no such thing as a High Definition LED screen. The resolution size of the screen may be sized to match a high definition resolution of say 1080i but that screen would be approximately 126 feet by 72 feet. If that is in your budget, then First Team can provide you with a HD LED video board.
Be aware that one major manufacturer uses the term HD but, when you read the fine print, it stands for High Density not High Definition!!!
